DISSEMINATION PLAN

Information Materials
  • Development of information materials on skin cancer risk factors, appearance, prevention and treatment, specially designed for the different forms of skin cancer, including: 1. Basal cell carcinoma (BCC), 2. Actinic keratoses (AK) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), 3. Melanoma (MM), 4. Skin cancer prevention (PREV).
  • Dissemination of these materials at public events, e.g. conferences, workshops, exhibitions, etc., and provision at all ESCF dermatological centers to be handed out to each patient after consultations
Information Days
  • Regular information days to inform the public about skin cancer, its risk factors and methods for prevention (organized once or twice a year by the partners)
Report
  • Assessment of clinicians’ health knowledge on skin cancer using the results of the workshop questionnaires and compilation of a health literacy assessment report to be addressed to policy makers

WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING PROGRAMS

  • Initiation of special workshops in each partner country in order to train dermatologists and general practitioners with respect to skin cancer diagnosis, prevention and treatment (one for dermatologists and one for GPs)
  • Evaluation of training courses using standardized questionnaires with clinical images prior to and after the course in order to assess the clinicians’ increase of skin cancer knowledge and to update the training program according to these evaluations

ASSIST IN PREVENTION AND TREATMENT GUIDELINES

  • Detailed literature research with regard to skin cancer prevention and treatment
  • Assist in drafting of guidelines according to the current knowledge during a standardized process in cooperation with all partner countries
  • Publication of the guidelines

EUROPEAN SKIN CANCER CENTERS

  • Evaluation and certification of skin cancer centers according to the specific requirements for participating in the European Skin Cancer Foundation

SKIN CANCER RESEARCH

  • Educational grants for innovative NMSC research projects, for example, on the evaluation of novel treatment modalities, prevention studies (e.g. sunscreen) or the applicability of non invasive diagnostic tools in the management of NMSC
