Sunlight may induce dryness of the skin and therefore moisturizing crèmes or lotions should be used following sun exposure. Aftersun lotions may contain additional substances supporting the cutaneous repair mechanisms of damaged skin cells. Should any redness or signs of sun burn occur despite the use of sun screens, it is recommended to avoid any further sun exposure until complete resolution of symptoms. Cold compresses and moisturizing cremes may bring symptomatic relief, in the presence of sunburn may necessitate the administration of anti-inflammatory agents or general medical attention.
